We had Darren and his team project manage and build some major earthworks and a new garage. The process was seamless, well managed and we were kept informed of every detail. Darren's attention to detail is second to none. 10/10

We couldn’t be happier with the work completed by Holmes Building! They renovated our bathroom and completely re-did our back verandah/pergola area, and the entire experience was exceptional from start to finish.
The team was always on time, professional and polite, and the quality of the work was fantastic. A special mention to Mell, who was wonderful to deal with throughout the whole process and made everything run so smoothly.
We would highly recommend Holmes Building to anyone looking for reliable, professional builders who deliver great results!

Thank you Rod, Darren, Melanie and team at Holmes Building for the recent bathroom renovation we have just had completed.
The whole process was seamless and hassle free. Having our selections at Harvey Norman Commercial gave us a wide range of options and competitive prices.
Looking forward to getting the team back for the remaining two bathrooms and kitchen soon.
Thanks again!

I recently had a ramp installed by the guys at Holmes Building. The whole process was seamless, after consultation (I originally thought steps) it was decided that a ramp was the go. This decision future proofed my needs (84 yo) and gives me the option of being wheelchair friendly if I need it. Well done Holmes for your helpful knowledge, I'm impressed 👏

Holmes Building & Design completed our Callala Bay house earlier this year. Darren, Rod, Cam & Max did an outstanding job - On budget and in good time!
The Holmes team not only built us an exceptional quality home, they improved our design with improvements along the way all within our budget.
We built on a cost plus basis - Rod Holmes helped us calculate an estimated before we started and the build was completed as per our estimate!

We can’t thank Darren and Rod from Holmes Building enough. Our journey began unlike most. After being left devastated when a local builder went into liquidation and took our money, they stepped in without hesitation and gave us a lifeline, taking on a job that was a complete mess and a safety hazard. From the very beginning, every step with them was marked by ease, honesty, and genuine helpfulness.
Their communication was exceptional. They guided us through selections with patience, kept us updated at every stage, and shared ideas we never would have thought of ourselves. What started as a nightmare experience was completely turned around by their professionalism, experience, care, and expertise.
Our home is absolutely beautiful and we couldn’t be happier. We feel indebted to Darren and Rod for giving us the dream home we thought we had lost.
We’re beyond grateful to have found them and only wish it had been from the very beginning. We wholeheartedly recommend Holmes Building to anyone looking for a professional and experienced building team.

As a filmmaker, videographer, and photographer who works closely with home builders, architects, and interior designers, I’ve had the privilege of capturing a wide range of projects — and Holmes Building is truly one of the best on the South Coast of NSW.
Every home they create reflects incredible craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. Their designs aren’t just beautiful; they’re thoughtful, functional, and built to last. Working with the Holmes team has been a seamless experience — they are professional, collaborative, and genuinely passionate about bringing their clients’ dream homes to life.
From a visual storytelling perspective, their projects are a dream to capture. The finishes, layouts, and architectural details photograph and film beautifully, which speaks volumes about the quality of their work.
I highly recommend Holmes Building to anyone looking to build a custom home that blends stunning design with superior workmanship. They’ve set the standard for excellence here on the South Coast NSW.

We worked with Rod, Darren and Dallas on the renovation of our 1970’s bungalow in Culburra Beach, and the entire extended team of tradespeople were an absolute pleasure to work with from the beginning. Some minor challenges (as you would expect with a large renovation) were managed honestly, transparently and professionally by everyone. We are ecstatic with the result and the quality of the build, I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Holmes building, the entire team are fantastic!

(renovating at Culburra Beach)
We’ve had a wonderful experience with Holmes Building & Design so far. From the beginning, Darren has been great to deal with—everything is clearly communicated, and his enthusiasm really stands out. As this was our first renovation, we were a bit apprehensive, but Darren took the time to walk us through everything and answer all our questions with patience, which made the whole process feel much easier and less stressful than we expected.
It’s been exciting watching the build come together, and the team on site have all been terrific. You can really see the skill and care that goes into the work, which we really value.
Being a local team with great reviews is what initially drew us to Holmes Building & Design, and they’ve definitely lived up to that. We’ve been thrilled with the experience so far and would happily recommend them to friends and family.
