The Marina is a multi award winning home built by Holmes Building & Design, located on the coastline at Culburra Beach. Designed by Jake Dowse, the project stands out for its form, structure and how it responds to its coastal setting.

The design draws from the surrounding landscape, with a curved roofline and structure influenced by the nearby sand dunes. This gives the home a distinct presence while still sitting comfortably within its environment.

Built in a challenging coastal location, the project required a high level of coordination and attention to detail throughout construction. Material selection, structure and finish all needed to perform in exposed conditions while maintaining the integrity of the design.

Recognised at the Master Builders Association of NSW Excellence Awards, The Marina received top honours in its category, acknowledging both the quality of construction and the execution of a complex architectural design.

The result is a one off home that reflects a strong collaboration between builder and architect, delivering a well resolved outcome that responds to its site, performs in coastal conditions and holds its place as a standout project on the South Coast.
